The 300th INCOR® LVAD was implanted in late October 2006 at the German Heart Institute Berlin.
The 53-year-old patient (1.92m height, 110kg body weight) was suffering from dilated cardio-myopathy and mitral valve insufficiency. He had already received an implanted defibrillator. When his condition did not improve, he was listed for a heart transplantation, and finally, as his condition continued to worsen, was put on the high urgency list.
In late October 2006 the patient received an INCOR® LVAD with long inflow cannula through medial implant. The operation, conducted by Professor Yuguo Weng, went without complications. The patient recovered well and was discharged from the hospital in late November 2006. He has resumed his normal life and enjoys the daily walks with his dog.
