A press conference was held on the 28th June at the Deutsche Herzzentrum Berlin (DHZB) in the presence of the medical director of the DHZB, Professor Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Roland Hetzer, Berlin Heart AG’s chairman of the board Mr. René Garo, the director of Berlin Heart AG’s division for Research and Development Dr. Peter Nüsser and 2 patients. The conference was held in order to announce the good news that a patient Mr. Uwe Magdeburg had been successfully supplied with our left ventricular assist device INCOR® for more than 1000 days.

„It is a great pleasure to speak in behalf of Berlin Heart AG today and on this specific occasion. We have made a great step forward especially in regard to long term therapy with our ventricular assist device”, Mr. Garo entered.
Professor Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Roland Hetzer had previously described before the gathered journalists the functioning of the ventricular assist device INCOR® . “But I had better stop now before I become too euphoric, he smirked to the attendants.
The INCOR® axial blood flow pump has already been inserted into 67 cases and has been developed in close cooperation with the DHZB, where the first implantations ever took place in the year 2002.
Mr. Magdeburg, who on the day of the press conference had been connected to the device exactly 1010 days, took part as one of four patients in the study.
Apparently, Mr. Uwe Magdeburg is feeling very well on the INCOR® device. He repeated this a number of times and he was not afraid of telling the interested journalists. “I can also anything: drive a car, cycle, walk and even work in my garden. I feel wonderful!”.
