EXCOR® Mobile – quality of life through mobility
The mobility of a patient is crucial for his comfort and thus for the success of therapy. Enabling the patient to return to his familiar environment, EXCOR® Mobile also reduces costs.
EXCOR® Mobile – the intelligent mobile driving unit
The new developed control technology evidently distinguishes EXCOR® Mobile from other systems. Due to this technical innovation EXCOR® Mobile adapts to the patient’s strain and circulation. As soon as the blood pressure changes, the system independently delivers the adapted pump volume. It automatically finds the ideal operating range within former chosen boundaries.
Due to the synchronous operation of both pumps – similar to the beat of the natural heart, the pressure in both ventricles is built up simultaneously. A paradoxical movement of the Septum is avoided. We reckon that this is a great advantage to systems that operate asynchronously as a recovery seems more achievable with a synchronous operation.
During univentricular operation, EXCOR® Mobile possesses complete redundancy. During a biventricular operation the built-in shifting unit guarantees the basic function of both pumps. Acoustic and visible alarm systems warn the patient should there be any problems.
Two charging units ensure an independent operating time of 6 hours. They can be changed by hand without switching off the machine. Every charging unit possesses a clearly designed display that shows the current charging state, which enables the patient to have full control at all times. In addition, emergency batteries in the driving unit assure an emergency cycle time of 15 minutes maximum in case both charging units are completely discharged.
EXCOR® Mobile is lightweight and flexible. Because of it’s large wheels, it is easy to move over steps, humps und uneven terrain Also the system is resistant to dripping water. The modular design makes maintenance easy. Single parts can easily be exchanged by the patient himself.
